New Horizons in Diversity Education: Unconscious Bias Self-Learning Tool Now Available in Two Languages and With Certification

The University of Konstanz launches an enhanced Unconscious Bias Self-Learning Tool, fostering diversity and inclusion.

The University of Konstanz is proud to announce a significant step towards diversity and inclusion in the academic world. We are delighted to present the expanded availability of our innovative Unconscious Bias Self-Learning Tool, now accessible in both German and English. This initiative underscores our commitment to creating a more conscious, integrative, and fair academic environment and is in line with the University of Konstanz's Diversity Code, which recommends reducing bias to create a positive diversity climate.

The Unconscious Bias Tool is now publicly accessible at www.uni-konstanz.de/unconscious-bias-tool. This resource is intended for anyone who wants to recognize and understand their unconscious biases to promote positive change in their community and beyond. The University of Konstanz encourages its members to use this tool to achieve personal growth and a deeper understanding of the diversity of human experiences.

For members of the University of Konstanz, we additionally offer the opportunity to obtain an internal certificate that confirms their commitment and efforts in addressing and overcoming unconscious biases. This certification is a visible sign of our collective pursuit of a more inclusive academic culture.

In a pleasing expansion of our reach and to enable the transfer of existing materials to the wider society, the Unconscious Bias Tool is also being made available to other universities through a licensing process. This step allows a larger number of academics to access this important learning tool and promotes the dissemination of knowledge and awareness about unconscious biases.

This offer is a vivid example of our commitment to fostering a more inclusive academic community where diversity and equality are central pillars. We believe that education and self-reflection are powerful tools to overcome unconscious biases and create a fairer world.
