"Digitale Medien in der Bildung - Grundlagen, Erkenntnisse, Trends"
Public online lecture by Professor Stephan Schumann, professor of economics and business education in the Department of Economics, vice speaker of the Binational School of Education (BiSE).
The digitalization of schools and universities, as one of the central topics in the public discourse of recent years, has gained even more attention recently in the COVID-19 crisis: In his talk, Professor Stephan Schumann will shed light on the use of digital media in education as well as the current state of research on the requirements for and effects of such use. His talk also focuses on how to promote the use of media as well as which long-term perspectives we may expect.
The talk is jointly organized by the Advanced Data and Information Literacy Track (ADILT) programme and the Binational School of Education (BiSE). It is part of the ADILT lecture series as well as the BiSE series Schule AKTUELL.
Schule AKTUELL aims to combine scientific findings from the fields of educational sciences and didactics with practical insights from schools in public lectures or discussion panels. It addresses teacher education students, teachers as well as teacher trainees and anyone interested in teacher education.

"Digitalisierung war gestern"
Public online lecture and discussion with Professor Claus Pias, professor of media theory and media history in the Institute of Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media (ICAM) at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
Discussions on digitalization are mostly characterized by the potential condition of forgetting. As things can fall into oblivion, digitalization can provide a parameter for repetition based on motifs that bear a certain similarity. The impositions, demands, and measures associated with digitalization seem to spring from paradoxical semantics of the future: On the one hand, they evoke a future without limits and call to mind one that is radically different based on technological innovation. On the other hand, they assure that our inevitable future has already begun, one that requires immediate action in order to avoid dramatic consequences. This figure of thought will first be historicized in the context of the Cold War, in order to ask what opportunities for knowledge and research policies would present themselves in the humanities if they did not stem from the future but rather from present digital cultures.
