Falling Walls Lab Baden-Württemberg 2024
Visionaries wanted! One stage, three minutes and lots of innovation: the regional Falling Walls Lab Baden-Württemberg will take place in Stuttgart in 2024.
On 10 July, talented people will have the opportunity to present their groundbreaking ideas. We cordially invite all researchers to take part in this year's Lab with their innovative ideas and projects and to take the chance to be selected as participant for the international Falling Walls Lab in Berlin on 9 November.
San Francisco, Cape Town, Baden-Württemberg - Stuttgart as an international lab location
As a preliminary round of the international Falling Walls Lab in Berlin, the so-called regional Falling Walls Labs are taking place worldwide - in addition to San Francisco, Cape Town, Myanmar, Dakar, Tel Aviv and many more, we are putting Stuttgart on the map this year and Konstanz next year. On 10 July, the Falling Walls Lab Baden-Württemberg 2024 will open its doors in the ARENA2036 at Campus Vaihingen. Participants will have three minutes to present their projects to a jury of experts. The winner will have the opportunity, to take part in the prestigious Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin and compete in the international Falling Walls Lab.
From 7 to 10 November 2024, the Falling Walls Science Summit will take place in Berlin - an international forum that brings together world leaders from science, business, culture and politics to provide a platform for possible solutions to global challenges. One highlight of the three-day summit is the international Falling Walls Lab on 9 November - the search for the "Science Breakthrough of the Year". Top scientists from all over the world will be invited to present their innovations, ideas, research results or business models to a high-calibre jury from science and industry. Being in Berlin means taking part in an international pitch competition and being able to exchange ideas with researchers and young professionals from all disciplines and countries at a networking forum.
The call for applications on the official Falling Walls Lab website is open until 1 May 2024. Based on a short application, the Lab Committee will will select the participants and offer training courses in the run-up to the Lab to practice and professionalize the presentations. We explicitly welcome applications from academics and Master's students in higher semesters, including humanities and social sciences as well as STEM subjects in basic and applied research.
About the organisers
The consortium of the Universities of Stuttgart, Heidelberg and Konstanz as well as the Wissensfabrik e. V., the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the strategic research association HEiKA is organising the Falling Walls Lab Baden-Württemberg 2024 at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENI) at the University of Stuttgart. In 2025, we have the honour of welcoming scientists from all over Baden-Württemberg to Konstanz.
The organizing institutions also welcome all interested parties from science and industry and cordially invite you to take part in the event. Registration is now open via Eveeno.
