The ERC Grants of the European Research Council (ERC) are part of the framework programme “Horizon Europe” of the European Commission. They are designed to support exceptional and outstanding researchers in establishing and consolidating their own independent research groups as well as in pursuing ground-breaking, high-risk projects that open new directions in their respective research fields.

ERC Starting Grants can be applied for by researchers with 2 to 7 years of experience since the completion of their doctoral degree and ERC Consolidator Grants by established researchers with 7 to 12 years of experience since the completion of their doctoral degree. Established researchers can apply for ERC Advanded Grants and the ERC Synergy Grants enable high level research within a team.

Our workshop is aimed at outstanding researchers who have at least two years of postdoctoral experience and are planning to apply for an ERC Grant. The event will not only give you an overview over the ERC funding programme and the individual grants, but will also provide you with hints and tips on proposal writing as well as the evaluation process. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to ask all your questions.
