Education for environmental sustainability is high on the agenda of European policy makers. Universities are perceived (and perceive themselves) as one of the main promoters of sustainability, both within the academic curriculum and via transversal initiatives that involve students and the surrounding communities. In this meeting, experiences and views as to the following questions will be exchanged:

  • How can the SDGs be successfully integrated in the academic curriculum?
  • How can students get actively involved in sustainability initiatives?

Students and educational experts from YERUN institutions will present their own experience and good practices on how to shape students' learning experience through the sustainability lens.

Presentations:

  • Integrating the SDGs in the academic curriculum: the experience of SDU - by Donna Hurford, Senior Educational Consultant at University of Southern Denmark
  • Marrying digital and green: the pioneering experience of the Virtual Academy of Sustainability – by Jonas Joachims & Katharina Lingenau, University of Bremen - Virtual Academy of Sustanability
  • Students actively engaged in sustainability - by Maximilian Düerkop, responsible for internal coordination at the University of Konstanz Green Office
