Welcome to the Collaborative Working Times for Doctoral Researchers!

You are dreading to write that abstract for a conference? For weeks, this important article has been waiting on your table for you to read it? You just have to proofread your paper one last time before submitting it, but you just cannot get it done? In this case, the Collaborative Working Times for Doctoral Researchers are just the place where you can not only work on your To-Do list in focused working sessions but also exchange thoughts and ideas with your peers!

Our regular Pomodoro sessions run for 25 minutes each, the times marked with an * run for 50 minutes.

Is your favourite working time missing? Then get in touch with us and offer your own session. Since we also know that not all doctoral researchers work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., there is the possibility of organising further sessions via our WhatsApp group - also spontaneously, even in the evening or early in the morning.

Further Information

What is it about?

Daily, we meet online to work together at regular times.

Who can participate?

Every doctoral researcher is welcome. No matter if you want to improve your working habits in the long run or if you simply lack the motivation to sit down at your desk alone today.

Doctoral researchers from all sections can participate in the sessions. Registration in advance is not necessary. Each meeting is a new opportunity to participate.

How does it work?

We meet online in Zoom meetings. You find the exact dates on this site or you will receive information via our mailing list. The working sessions are between 2 and 4 hours and are guided by our moderators. All sessions consist of:

  • A short introduction round (name, projects and today’s goal)
  • Several sessions of 25-50 minutes focused working time with 5-10 minute breaks in between. A timer gives us the signal to start and stop our sessions (microphones off, cameras on)
  • A final round (what have I accomplished / my feelings about it)

Get S*** Done Days

Do you lack the time and space to work on your doctoral thesis in your everyday life? Then you might want to participate in our monthly Get S*** Done Days at the Bischofsvilla in Konstanz.

In addition to clearly structured work units with the Pomodoro method, there will be the opportunity to network with your peers while enjoying the wonderful location next to the Seerhein. Doctoral researchers from all departments at the University of Konstanz can participate free of charge.

You will always receive further information and the link to the registration – first come, first serve – in good time via our mailing list.

Upcoming dates: 15 December 2023
