stronger.together in the pandemic

Assistance for students during the coronavirus pandemic

As a result of current developments in the coronavirus pandemic, our everyday lives have changed dramatically. We now have to do without many things we used to take for granted, like visiting famiy, picknicking in the park with friends and working out at the gym. Other things have also moved out of reach, like a side job at a restaurant, a semester abroad or an internship during the semester break.

The current situation is thus challenging for students on several levels. Many are living with financial challenges, since their side jobs have disappeared and perhaps their parents’ jobs are also at risk.

In addition to this financial burden, many wonder when they will be able to start their semester abroad. Others have to come to terms with the fact that their hard-won internship placement is now gone.

We would like to stand behind our students during these unsure times and support them in as many ways as possible with managing their current needs.

The University of Konstanz Alumni Association (VEUK e.V.) and the University of Konstanz Society (UGK e.V.) would like to use their network and their voice to help out and assist others, in the Lake Constance region and beyond.

We join with Professor Kerstin Krieglstein, Rector of the University of Konstanz, Bjön Graf Bernadotte, president of UGK e.V. and Peter Gottwald, chair of VEUK e.V., in asking for your donation.

Take this opportunity to support students at the University of Konstanz who are in need during this trying time. Every donation counts!

As a former diplomat, I have experienced a number of critical situations, but the situation we are currently in really is unique.
Together we can get through this crisis a lot easier: Now it becomes obvious why a strong network like VEUK is so important. Alumni and students: stronger.together!
Peter Gottwald, VEUK e.V. Chair
